So there's been a lot of buzz about tracing and how it's stealing. As a kid I did a ton of tracing, granted it didn't help me become a better drawer but it did help me in other aspects when it comes to art. If someone isn't making money then what's the big deal when it comes to tracing? What ever happened to feeling flattered? If you're still being credited...why is there yelling going on? There's a difference when someone takes your work and doesn't alter it or make it their own and before anyone gets up in arms with me 1. it's what I do, I use a ton of stock which by all means are copyrighted and I put them together to make it my own and 2. look at how many famous artists used images and made it theirs. Warhol for one, but he made money but he did more than trace...far more. i think the only thing i get completely up in arms about is when things I write are taken...that's it and I don't ever see that happening, watch it happen now.
I sometimes wonder if people like to get up in a roar because they have nothing else going on. no offense. I'm an aries...i get worked up easily.
I say, if someone uses something from my stock account as "reference" and draws it, it not copyright infringement. They are simply drawing from a picture. If they take my image and use a wacom tablet and just paint over the image and make it identicle, then we have a problem.

It's a Mr Death or something. He's come about the reaping?
